  • Train new and less experienced employees.

  • Complete required paperwork.

  • Interact with other employees to solve problems that interfere with production.

  • Maintain production standards.

  • May move material by hand, floor/hand jack or powered industrial truck.

     WORKING CONDITIONS: Standing for extended periods of time.  Exposed to hazardous machinery.

1.         Conduct performance evaluation tests on raw materials, finished products, prototypes, or formulations as directed, record results on test reports and file in the appropriate database.  Interpret test results and review data with Supervisor and other management personnel.


2.         Evaluate product ingredients, prepare batch samples of formulations and make other prototype products as directed.  Record observations and findings gathered during the evaluation and preparation phase according to company procedures.


3.         Maintain adequate supply of materials for blending and production; coordinate railcar movement with the railroad and procurement personnel.


4.         Assist with locating new supplies of raw materials: develop and maintain database of raw material supplies, available materials and cost information


5.         Maintain a clean, safe working environment and ensure equipment is cleaned after each test and ready for re-use.


6.         Other related duties as assigned.




MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:        A.A. degree or technical school certificate in chemistry/mechanical

engineering.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Good math skills desired.

Essential Job Functions

  • Respond to client inquiries, incoming mail, company requests and producers’ needs on a timely basis.
  • Perform all account transactions including applications, quotations, ID cards, proposals, summaries, endorsements, certificates, binders, billing, follow-up and correspondence on assigned accounts.
  • To receive, document and process all insureds’ requests for service and to submit this information to insurance companies within the company’s binding authority within 24 hours of receipt.
  • Prepare quotations, coverage summaries/comparisons, proposals and recommendations needed to insured clients/prospects understanding and adequacy of coverage.
  • Submit claims and answer claim-related questions along with claim follow-up.
  • Maintain all client files in the agency management system with full policy detail and use the system for all transactions, notes and suspense.  Follow-up on suspense items within 5 days of the suspense date and mark completed as verified/received.
  • Process and verify insurance policies/endorsements/audits and attach in agency management system.
  • Survey policy coverage and identify cross-selling and upgrading opportunities.
  • Collect, receipt and process customer premium payments.
  • Open/close office daily.
  • Answer phones in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Keep up to date on insurance underwriting rules/regulations.
  • To compose letters to insurance companies and clients with final draft being reviewed by Account Manager.
  • Meet with Account Manager weekly to review accounts and work being processed.
  • To review renewals with producer and obtain all necessary updated underwriting information from customers no later than 60 days prior to expiration.  Prepare renewal submissions, proposals and complete coverage analysis.
  • Review and order renewals according to agency procedures.
  • Responsible for meeting established deadlines.
  • Keep current with industry trends by reading appropriate journals and company bulletins.
  • To perform miscellaneous tasks at management’s request and assist in training other employees as needed.

Insurance CSRs are required to resolve customer complaints in a timely and professional manner, and they should be able to calmly and courteously handle customers who are impatient or irate. The average customer decides whether to continue doing business with an insurance agency largely based on the friendliness and professionalism of the CSR. CSRs that communicate through email should have good spelling and grammar skills, while those who communicate primarily on the phone should have a good speaking voice and communicate clearly. CSRs provide support to producers to facilitate account growth. Working as a CSR can lead to advancement within the agency.
